Mrs. Vinod Bhasin was born on 8th September, 1928 in Rawalpindi (now in Pakistan). She was the wife of the Founder of this Trust - Late Shri Om Prakash Bhasin. She was named the first Chairperson of this Trust and headed it till her sad demise on 22nd December, 2008. Mrs. Vinod Bhasin was very passionate about the Trust and all other charitable organizations that she and her husband were involved with. She took in upon herself as a mission to promote and support the cause that was so close to her husband's heart.

It would be fair to say that the success of 'The Shri Om Prakash Bhasin Foundation for Science & Technology' is due to the efforts of Mrs. Vinod Bhasin. Even though she was not a scientist, her sheer enthusiasm for this cause helped create a team of eminent scientists to support this Trust. Her dynamism, passion and determination has been at the epicenter of this great Foundation / Trust.

Mrs. Bhasin will be greatly missed. It would be her goal to see her children further promote and uphold the noble thoughts behind this Trust. I know personally that the more she was involved in the Trust, the more she felt a closeness to her husband whom she loved and respected dearly. She would want her children to carry forward his noble legacy. Mrs. Vinod Bhsin makes one realize the boundless power of a noble idea. This was an idea that her husband planted, which she transformed into a glorious reality. We hope this noble Trust continues to grow and spread as its Founder & first Chairperson would want. Wherever she went, she tried to establish contact with the awardees of the Foundation, and was taken around by them to see their facilities and explain their work in person.

We will miss you dearly and hope we can live up to the impeccable standards you have created at the Shri Om Prakash Bhasin Foundation for Science & Technology.
